Russian manufacturers of food equipment successfully compete with foreign producers in the domestic market. The share of domestic factories in the Russian market was 37% in 2020. By the end of the first six months of 2025, it reached 53.9%, according to the Association "Rosspetsmash."
Production has been established for many types of equipment that were previously not manufactured in Russia. Currently, there is significant development in the production of refrigeration equipment, food service equipment, and packaging machinery. New solutions in the robotization and automation of food production are also emerging. There are numerous niches in food machinery that are potentially interesting for import substitution.
At the same time, due to the openness of the Russian market, competition with foreign brands remains high. Supplies continue to come from EU countries (Germany, Poland, and others), as well as Turkey. Chinese companies are also increasing their share in the import volume to Russia.
