Labeling of household chemicals and cosmetic products in Russia

As of March 1, 2025, mandatory labeling of household chemicals and cosmetic products will be introduced in Russia. This is an important step in the fight against counterfeiting, increasing market transparency, and protecting consumer rights.

According to the Russian Government's Resolution No. 1681 dated November 30, 2024, "On Approval of Rules for Marking Certain Types of Perfumery and Cosmetic Products and Household Chemicals Packaged in Consumer Packaging," on March 1, 2025, registration began for participants in the circulation process within the marking system known as "Chестny Znak" (Honest Sign).

The implementation of labeling will be carried out in stages:

May 1, 2025: Labeling of soap and surfactants (detergents, household chemicals);
July 1, 2025: Hair care products, shaving products, and deodorants;
October 1, 2025: Cosmetics and oral care products.
