Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Evgeny Kamkin, and the Health Minister of the Philippines, Theodore Erbo, agreed to expand cooperation on the export of pharmaceuticals to the Philippines during their meeting at the 7th Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety in Manila, according to a report by the Russian Ministry of Health's Telegram channel.
During their meeting, representatives from Russia and the Philippines discussed cooperation prospects in various areas, including:
- supplies of Russian pharmaceutical and medical products to the Philippines;
- collaboration between educational institutions of the two countries in training specialists;
- export of medical services. From 2021 to 2024, 4,400 Filipinos received medical care in Russia.
Evgeny Kamkin emphasized the importance of contacts between the two countries in the healthcare sector and stated that cooperation would continue in the use and regulation of cutting-edge radiopharmaceuticals. The parties also plan to collaborate on the development and implementation of innovative technologies in nuclear medicine, as well as on training personnel for the healthcare system.
At the beginning of 2025, Binnopharm Group opened an office in Vietnam. The company plans to register its medications for gastrointestinal diseases in this country.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg), drugs and vaccines under 1,362 INNs are currently being exported from Russia to 160 countries worldwide. Experts predict further growth in demand for Russian pharmaceuticals.
