Dozens of food industry enterprises in the Stavropol Territory, with state support, are establishing, reconstructing, and expanding their production facilities, reported Anton Doronin, Minister of Economic Development of the region, to Interfax.

"In the food industry of Stavropol, 21 projects are being implemented with a total cost of approximately 10.3 billion rubles. After their commissioning, the creation of about 1,300 jobs is planned," said Minister Anton Doronin in a statement to Interfax.

Among the projects, a plant for bottling non-alcoholic beverages will be constructed, along with a production elevator complex for the reception, storage, and processing of agricultural raw materials, and a line for the production and packaging of feed will be launched.

Since the beginning of this year, four investment projects in the processing sector have already been completed, totaling approximately 230 million rubles. Specifically, production of beer and non-alcoholic beverages has been launched, a cheese-making workshop and a milling complex have been built, and the production of baked goods has been expanded.

"Our focus remains on four large-scale investment projects planned for implementation in the food sector, including 'breakthrough' projects worth around 30 billion rubles, where more than 1,000 jobs will be created. Among our top priorities is ensuring technological sovereignty for the food and processing industries, which serve as the locomotives of Stavropol's economic growth," Doronin clarified.

The minister noted that food production in the region is showing growth this year. For the first nine months of the current year, regional enterprises shipped 13% more products compared to the same period last year, amounting to over 145.6 billion rubles. Taxes paid amounted to 16.5 billion rubles, representing a 7.5% increase compared to last year.

Support for Stavropol enterprises is being carried out by the Ministry of Economic Development of the region under the direction of Stavropol Governor Vladimir Vladimirov and as part of the regional state program "Development of Food and Processing Industries, Consumer Market" and the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."

In the food sector of Stavropol, there are 750 enterprises employing around 50,000 people. Over 100 manufacturers export their products. Stavropol supplies food products to 60 countries worldwide. The main importers include Saudi Arabia, China, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Belarus. This year, three new export directions have been opened: Liberia, Yemen, and Benin.
