The Tunzhan checkpoint (PRC) has, for the first time, received raw materials for the production of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparations, after obtaining permission to import such products a year and a half ago. This is reported by the online publication BIANG.

According to the source, the first truck carrying 2.29 tons of dried ash bark arrived in Tongjiang on January 23 from the Russian checkpoint "Nizhneleninskoye" in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast.

This is the first batch of raw materials for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) imported into Tongjiang since the State Council of China granted the checkpoint the necessary authority to import such raw materials on July 4, 2023.

Zhou Lei, the general manager of the Tongjiang cold chain logistics company "Jingdu," noted that this is a significant breakthrough for local businesses, as it now allows the importation of raw materials for producing TCM medications through Tongjiang.

The Tongjiang checkpoint is prepared to handle more than 50,000 tons of TCM raw materials annually, including 15 different types such as mistletoe, blue trumpet creeper, and ash bark.

Adjacent to the checkpoint, a 1,000-square-meter center for disinfecting TCM raw materials has been built, capable of processing between 115 and 200 cubic meters of sprouts, shoots, roots, and tree bark per day. The treatment process involves fumigation or burning.
