The ninth factory of the Moscow pharmaceutical cluster was opened in Alabushevo: 8.5 billion investments and up to 5.4 million vials per year.

""""""""""""""""" On Moscow Industry Day, October 7, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened a new production complex of Generium-Next LLC (part of the Pharmstandard Group of companies) at the Alabushevo site of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. The plant became the ninth enterprise of the capital pharmaceutical cluster.

"Eight production facilities are already operating at the sites of the special economic zone in Zelenograd and Pechatniki. "We are opening the ninth state—of-the—art "Generium—Next" plant in Alabushevo today, on Moscow Industry Day," said Sergey Sobyanin.

Investments in the project exceeded 8.5 billion rubles. Construction has been underway since 2022 and was completed in October this year. A modern pharmaceutical enterprise with an area of 28.1 thousand square meters has been built on a land plot of 2.2 hectares, which will employ 250 people.

Key project parameters:

  • The volume of investments is more than 8.5 billion rubles;
  • The area of the enterprise is 28.1 thousand square meters on a plot of 2.2 hectares;
  • Capacity — up to 5.4 million vials per year;
  • New jobs — 250;
  • Release — complex genetically engineered and orphan drugs.

The plant is equipped with modern equipment, a significant part of which was created by domestic manufacturers. These are, for example, domestic systems for the preparation of solutions for cytokine and monoclonal antibody workshops, equipment for the production of nitrogen gas, as well as systems for the production, storage and distribution of water, both purified and for injection.

"""" It is planned to produce a number of biosimilars at the new facilities: "Tigeraza" (the world's first biosimilar of dornase alpha for the treatment of cystic fibrosis), "Elizaria" (the world's first biosimilar of eculizumab), "Genolar" (""Russia's first biosimilar of omalizumab"), "Glurazim" (biosimilar of imiglucerase for the treatment of Gaucher's disease) and "Reveliza" (biosimilar of alteplase for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases).

"Here we plan to produce ready-made forms not only for analogues that "Generium" was the first to register in Russia, but also next year to begin production of a ready-made form of the first Russian original drug for Hunter's disease. We will not stop there and plan to open two new lines to increase capacity," said Alexander Andryushechkin, CEO of "Generium-Next".

The specialists have now started producing test series. Next, the production will have to be licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and receive registration certificates from the Ministry of Health of Russia. Serial production is planned to start before the end of 2026.

"Generium"-Next" receives significant benefits as a resident of "Technopolis Moscow" SEZ: exemption from property, transport and land taxes for 10 years, as well as a profit tax rate of only 2%. After reaching full capacity, the company, according to the calculations of the authorities, will completely cover the country's needs for orphan drugs, ensuring Russia's technological independence in the critically important field of drug production.
