"Nizhpharm" has invested 158 million rubles in a new line of packaging and packaging of soft dosage forms: the speed is up to 270 packages per minute.

The Russian pharmaceutical manufacturer "Nizhpharm" (Nizhny Novgorod) has commissioned a new line of packaging and packaging of soft dosage forms. The amount of investments in the project amounted to 158 million rubles, according to the company's press service.

According to the company, the maximum operating speed of the new equipment reaches 270 packages per minute. This will allow the plant to increase the production of soft dosage forms — ointments, creams and suppositories — by about 50%.

""Levomekol" ointment (dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine+chloramphenicol), one of the most sought—after products in the Nizhpharma portfolio, became the first drug to be packaged on the launched line ."Levomekol" (dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine+chloramphenicol) is one of the most sought-after products in the portfolio of Nizhpharma. According to the company, more than 15 million packages of this ointment were sold in 2024.

"Nizhpharm" has historically specialized in the production of soft dosage forms. According to the state register of medicines, the manufacturer holds registration certificates for:

  • 10ointments for external use;
  • 6 creams for external use;
  • 25 suppositories (candles).

The Nizhny Novgorod plant is one of two production sites of the "NIZHPHARM" group of companies: soft forms (ointments, suppositories, gels, sprays) with more than 100 years of history are produced here. The second site, "Chemopharm" in Obninsk, produces solid dosage forms.

From 2004 to 2023, "Nizhpharm" was part of the German holding company Stada, but later the company was separated into a separate company. In April 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring 100% of the shares of the legal entity owned by NIDDA LINKS S.A.R.L. (Luxembourg) to the temporary management of "Farmirus" LLC.

The launch of a new packaging line is part of a strategy for import substitution and capacity building in the domestic pharmaceutical industry. Speeding up packaging and packaging will make it possible to close the growing demand for high-demand drugs, including "Levomekol", which holds almost a third of the Russian market of wound healing agents, without increasing production areas.
