The company "Aromamedia" has started producing scented packaging for plant-based medicinal products. It will help consumers choose herbal medicines from various manufacturers and protect the products from counterfeiting, the company's press service reported.
Producers of such products believe that consumers will find it convenient to smell the plant components without opening the packaging. This will help distinguish medications by their aroma during home storage.
The method of packaging aromatization complies with safety requirements. The scent is applied to the outer part of the packaging and does not affect its contents. The aroma is released upon light touch to the surface and does not spread uncontrollably.
According to company specialists, a key advantage of using scented packaging for pharmaceutical manufacturers is the uniqueness of the fragrances. They are created specifically for each manufacturer, which also protects the product from counterfeiting. The scent helps easily differentiate between an original product and a counterfeit, which is important for both companies and consumers. Moreover, for people with visual impairments, scented packaging serves as an additional means of identifying the medication by smell.
The company "Aromamedia" specializes in developing and implementing innovative aromatic solutions for various industries and has been doing so for over 20 years.
Specialists from Sechenov University were the first in Russia to develop a test for assessing a person's ability to distinguish smells. Olfactory ability is evaluated on a 45-point scale.
Experts from Skoltech and the SIBUR PolyLab Research Center presented an "electronic nose." It can detect harmful substances in packaging materials, even if they are odorless.
