Vietnam anticipates the entry of the first four major Russian pharmaceutical companies into its market by 2026, according to a statement by Nguyen Viet Khoa, the CEO of JSC "Pharmviet," in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"Currently, four Russian pharmaceutical giants have already received certification: the GMP certificate according to the PIC/S standard. Now the second step is underway: the drug dossiers. These also differ significantly between Russian and global standards... I believe that in the very near future—already by 2026—the first registration numbers for several companies will be approved," said Nguyen Viet Khoa in response to a question from the agency during the Eastern Economic Forum about when the first Russian pharmaceutical companies will enter the Vietnamese market.
The GMP certificate ensures that manufacturers comply with the requirements of good manufacturing practices. Nguyen Viet Khoa explained that achieving certification for Russian companies was preceded by significant efforts.
"We spent two years promoting and conducting work to get Russian GMP standards recognized in Vietnam because the (Russian) GOST standard and the WHO GMP standard differ. It took a long time to approve them," he clarified to the agency.
The 10th Eastern Economic Forum took place from September 3-6 in Vladivostok at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. RIA Novosti acted as the general information partner of the forum.
