President Vladimir Putin has signed a law extending the ability to use "eco," "bio," and other similar labels without mandatory certification until September 2030. For businesses, this means a deferment of strict requirements for organic products and their positioning.
The President of Russia has signed a law establishing a transitional period for labeling goods as organic, reports RIA Novosti. According to the document, until September 1, 2030, manufacturers will be able to use words such as "eco," "bio," "ecologically clean," "green," and similar terms on packaging and trademarks without mandatory confirmation that the products actually comply with the requirements of the law "On Organic Products."
Previously, under Law No. 367-FZ, which was set to come into effect on September 1, 2025, these labels could only be used for products certified as organic. The new law effectively postpones the stricter regulation by five years.
