"Lambumiz" will launch the first stage of a new aseptic packaging workshop for the dairy and juice industry by the summer of 2026.
PJSC "Lambumiz", one of the key Russian manufacturers of food packaging, has launched a major investment project to produce aseptic packaging used in the dairy and juice industries. The company has now started approving the construction of a new workshop.
According to the company, according to the results of the first quarter, "Lambumiz" completed engineering surveys and developed urban planning solutions for future production. The documentation is being prepared for coordination with the Moscow Architecture Department, and engineering work is underway at the future construction site.
The project is being implemented in two stages. The commissioning of the first stage of aseptic packaging production is scheduled for the summer of 2026, and by 2027 the company will build about 14 thousand square meters of production and warehouse space and create up to 50 new jobs.
"Our team continues to implement an investment project to build an aseptic packaging manufacturing facility. The design of the new building is being carried out by the "SIBPROEKTNIIAVIAPROM" team, known for its work on federal projects in the aircraft industry. We are confident that the expertise of our colleagues will become a reliable platform for fulfilling business tasks and strengthening our position in the asepsis segment," said Andrey Dyakov, Executive Director of PJSC "Lambumiz".
The growth in demand for aseptic packaging is supported by the positive dynamics of the dairy industry. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, average milk yields per cow increased by 5.2% in January—October 2024, and the average annual growth rate may reach 7% for large producers of commercial milk. Rosstat records an increase in milk production in December 2024 by 6% year—on-year, and the production of fermented dairy products by 3.7%.
The vegetable milk segment is becoming a separate driver: according to Nielsen, sales of alternative milk in retail chains increased by 27.6% in the first nine months of 2024. The growing demand has also dispersed FMCG retailers' own brands — their market share has reached 7.2%, having tripled in recent years.
Juice production is increasing at a comparable rate: in 2024, Russian producers produced 1.9 billion standard cans of fruit and vegetable beverages, and growth in December was estimated at 29% year-on-year.
Key figures of the project and the market:
- the volume of new construction is about 14 thousand square meters of production and warehouse space;
- the launch of the first stage is in the summer of 2026, the full completion is in 2027;
- the creation of up to 50 new jobs;
- aseptic packaging already occupies about a third of the milk packaging market;
- the volume of the aseptic packaging market may almost double by 2028.
Positive trends are reflected in the financial performance of the players. According to RAS reporting data, by the end of 2024, PJSC "Lambumiz" increased revenue by 7.1% to 2.75 billion rubles, maintaining EBITDA margin at 19% and keeping net debt at a negative level, despite investments in import—substituting projects. The new production facility will strengthen the technological independence of the food industry from imported packaging and provide domestic dairy and juice producers with reliable packaging.
