At iPDF 2026 in Guangzhou, aluminum tubes, dual-chamber bottles and patented closures were unveiled for the beauty industry.
At the iPDF (International Future Packaging) 2026 exhibition in Guangzhou, Chinese suppliers presented a large-scale lineup of innovative cosmetic packaging solutions. The event, which gathered over 15,000 professional buyers — from procurement directors to R&D heads of major beauty brands — became the launchpad for products that could define industry trends for years to come.
As the beauty market faces slowing growth and intense product homogenization, packaging has become the decisive competitive factor. Chinese manufacturers are betting on a combination of sustainability, functionality, and premium aesthetics.
Guangzhou Hongzhi Packaging — the only manufacturer in the world capable of producing four types of tubes at a single facility (laminate, aluminum-plastic, pure aluminum, and aluminum-plastic with rubber coating) — announced two flagship products. Its clients include L'Oréal, Winona, and Bloomage Biotechnology.
The first product is a vintage-style eco-friendly pure aluminum tube developed with CNY 20 million (about $2.8 million) in R&D investment. It breaks processing limits, offering compatibility with hundreds of tube caps, infinite recyclability, and excellent oxygen barrier performance. The second is the industry's first dual-tube design with a zinc-alloy massage head: inner and outer chambers independently store highly active formulations, while the cooling zinc head enables precise dispensing and massage-enabled penetration.
Essel (Guangzhou) Packaging, a tube supplier to P&G, Unilever, Proya, and Baiqueye, unveiled two innovation series:
- Dual-chamber serum tubes — components remain separated until first use, delivering visible dual efficacy;
- Multi-tube matrix — a tube-in-tube design with two formulas in a single container, adaptable for step-by-step skincare by time, area, or routine.
The series has already won six patents and can be adapted for oral care, skincare, and color cosmetics.
Guangzhou Shanggong Plastics — a supplier of functional closures to Proya, Unilever, and Cosmax — launched six new patented closures at once: a suction-reducing pointed nozzle, a non-return single-ball closure, an outdoor twist-lock cap, a dual-color ceramic tongue, an inverted pressure-relief silicone valve cap, and a breathable sun-care cap.
"Functional packaging is becoming the second core competitive edge for skincare brands," noted a brand R&D director at the event.
Guangzhou Tonglu Packaging, specializing in premium glass bottles, unveiled two new series — Shell and V-Perspective. Using pearl-lustre spray, mother-of-pearl electroplating, and iridescent gradient finishes, the bottles capture the soft glow of pearls and the rainbow shimmer of seashells, creating a strong shelf appeal.
Other notable debuts include patented acne patches from Liqin Printing at just 0.35mm thickness (the industry's thinnest), rotating blush with a built-in brush from Laoshi Plastics, a glue-free metered dropper and integrated safety lock from Shanghai Yingyu, and a 35mm single-ball massage tube from Wengu for body care.
As iPDF 2026 concluded, it became clear: Chinese manufacturers have fully transitioned from low-cost production to high-tech, sustainability-focused, and functionality-driven solutions for the global beauty market.
