The international Evya Group has implemented the "Honest Sign" labeling system at its production complex in Malaysia. The application of identification codes on imported cosmetics and household chemicals has been integrated into the manufacturing process, reported the press service of the Center for the Development of Perspective Technologies (CRPT).
"We started the labeling process well ahead of schedule and can confidently say that work is proceeding full steam — steadily and without disruptions. Already at the preparation stage, we adapted the production lines at our factory in Malaysia and streamlined all processes — from receiving identification codes to transmitting data to the 'Honest Sign' system. Despite the fact that production is located outside Russia, we successfully integrated the labeling system into the technological chain," stated the company, as quoted by CRPT.
As reported by the press service, the importing company Grace & Stella also joined the labeling system in advance and has already labeled more than 32,000 product units across various types of packaging. The company noted that the implementation was carried out in accordance with established procedures, which will ensure uninterrupted production once mandatory labeling becomes effective and will increase consumer confidence.
Mandatory labeling for certain types of cosmetics, soap, household chemicals, and cleaning agents began in Russia on May 1, 2024. It applies to soap, detergents, cleaning products, and household chemicals. Hair and shaving products, as well as deodorants, will begin to be labeled starting July 1, 2024, while cosmetics and toothpaste will fall under the requirement beginning October 1, 2025.
